Lovely Breakfast

Your host Alison offers a table of plenty for breakfast, both continental style and cooked, using local products including eggs from her own free range hens. Homebaked or locally grown produce are Alison's trademark.

Rooms For Everybody

Choose from four spacious, sunny guest rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. On offer are two rooms with queen sized beds, one super king and one with twin king singles.

Meet Alison Taylor

Alison warmly welcomes you to Awatea Country Bed and Breakfast at Hapuku, just minutes from Kaikoura. Born in New Plymouth in the middle of last century, she spent a wonderfully idyllic childhood near Ngamotu Beach. After many years as a teacher and a short foray into the world of Real Estate, she moved to Kaikoura in 2002 after purchasing her little piece of heaven near Hapuku.

What Does Awatea Mean?

Awatea means new beginnings and that is exactly what this place has been for Alison, a new life in beautiful Kaikoura, where the mountains meet the sea. She belongs to the Lions Club of Seaward Kaikoura, a group of amazing women who achieve great things through teamwork, but has time to spend with her family who live in Nelson and near Rangiora.
